Q: Which beach is closest to the Candleberry Inn?

The nearest beach is Breakwater Beach which is approximately 1/4 mile from the inn, and therefore a 12 minute walk or 2 minute car ride. There are other Brewster beaches that are moments away by car. The National Seashore is approximately 10-15 minutes away by car. Wherever you choose to enjoy the gorgeous beaches of Cape Cod, we have everything you need to enjoy to enjoy a day at the beach. From chairs, to towels, and even sunscreen, we’ve got you covered.

Q: Which airport is the closest to the Candleberry Inn?

The closest major airports are Boston Logan Airport (approximately 90 minutes away) and Providence TF Green (approximately 2 hours away). There also are smaller airports on the Cape including Barnstable / Hyannis Airport (15 minutes away), Chatham Airport (15 minutes away), and Provincetown Airport (one hour away).

Q: Do we need to rent a car if flying into the area?

Yes, a car would certainly make it easier for you to maximize your visit on the Cape and easily experience the local activities. There are Uber and Lyft, and bus services.

Q: Are there restaurants within walking distance of the Candleberry Inn?

Yes, a short walk away are Spinnaker (fine dining, Italian / Mediterranean cuisine) and the Brewster Chowder House (casual, pub / tavern). Then within minutes, there are dozens of other dining options, both fine dining and casual. Your Hosts, Marco and Angelo, want to make sure you experience the best of Cape Cod, so be sure to ask for recommendations while you’re here, as well! Whether you’re looking for certain dining venues or menus, reservations or something less formal, we’re happy to help you decide and make reservations for you. Q: How far from the Candleberry Inn is the Cape Cod Rail Trail?

The Cape Cod Rail Trail is half mile away from the Inn. We are approximately located at the middle of the 26 mile bike trail. One direction will terminate in Wellfleet, while the other direction will cross the Cape and take you towards either Chatham or South Dennis.

Q: Do you offer bikes at the Candleberry Inn?

For the sake of guest safety, bikes need to be professionally maintained, so we don’t offer them as part of the inn. However, we have relationships with several nearby bike shops that will deliver bikes to the inn. We’re happy to refer you to the bike shops.

Q: Do you have beach towels and chairs at Candleberry Inn?

Yes, we provide beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas. They are all washed/sanitized after each use for guest safety.

Q: Is there a fee to enter Cape Cod beaches?

There is a parking fee at the nearby Brewster Beaches, but entering the beaches is free. So walking or biking to the beach is free. There is an entry fee for the National Seashore (National Parks) Beaches.

Q: What time is check-in at the Candleberry Inn?

Check-in time is between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Early check-ins are usually not possible due to housekeeping staff shortage combined with additional current housekeeping procedures. But feel free to ask, we’d be happy to accommodate this request if we can.

Q: Can you accommodate later check-ins at Candleberry Inn?

Yes, we can easily accommodate later check-ins. A late arrival envelope with your first name on it will be waiting for you at the guest arrival area. The envelope will contain the keys and easy directions to your room. This way you may leisurely stop for dinner on your way onto the Cape and arrive with ease. And we’ll see you at breakfast time.

Q: What time is check-out at Candleberry Inn?

Check-out time is before 11:00 am.

Q: Are there refrigerators in the room at Candleberry Inn?

The suites and the rooms in the Carriage House do not have refrigerators. There is a refrigerator in the common guest pantry area, which would normally be for shared use. However, in 2020 it was not shared. For guests that need a refrigerator for medications, we have a mini fridge that can be placed in your room for your stay – it’s tiny and can fit a few cans of drinks or your medications and guests love it.

Yes, we can accommodate almost any dietary restrictions or allergies with advance notice.

Yes, we can accommodate almost any dietary restrictions or allergies with advance notice.

Q: I wake up early, is it possible to get coffee prior to breakfast service at Candleberry Inn?

Certainly. We usually have a self-serve coffee maker in the guest pantry, and the Garden Suite has its own single-serve KEURIG in the room. But we will also happily provide coffee and tea from the kitchen anytime after 7:00 AM. Just come see us as we’re getting ready for breakfast.

Q: My child has a severe nut allergy. Will it be ok for my child to eat items prepared in the kitchen at Candleberry Inn?

With advance notice we will have no nuts in the kitchen or in any recipes during your length of your stay, to avoid any chance of cross contamination.

Q: I need to work a few hours each day during my stay. May I access the Wi-Fi and work from the common areas and patio at Candleberry Inn?

Yes, the indoor and outdoor common areas are for you to use and enjoy. There is free high-speed enterprise grade Wi-Fi throughout. Several guests take advantage of the covered patio and work at the bistro tables there.

Q: Is it possible to print a document at Candleberry Inn?

Yes, the hosts or staff would gladly help you print.

Q: I’d like to purchase a set of new bed sheets like the ones used at Candleberry Inn. Are they for sale?

Yes, the sheets are for sale in sets of queen and king sizes.

Q: Are the bath amenities at Candleberry Inn for sale?

Yes, we have the amenities in larger pump bottle sizes (400 ml) for sale. Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash, and Lotion are all for sale.

Q: Is there air conditioning in the rooms at Candleberry Inn and would I have my own temperature control / thermostat?

Yes, mini-split air conditioning units were installed a few years ago, offering quiet climate control with individual thermostats and temperature control for each room.

Q: Where can we catch the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket?

The closest major ferry port is Hyannis, which is approximately 12 miles from the inn and we recommend 40 minutes to get there to allow time to drive, park the car, and get to the ferry. For Nantucket, there is a fast ferry that departs in the busy season from Harwich Port, which is 15 minutes away. There is also ferry service at Woods Hole (Falmouth) which is approximately one hour from the Inn.

Q: Where can we schedule a whale-watching cruise in Cape Cod?

There are two options for whale watching cruises. One is in Provincetown (Dolphin Fleet) and the other is in Barnstable Harbor (Hyannis Whale Watching Cruises). You can also add this to your stay when you book and your whale watching trip will be all set when you arrive.
