Cape Cod in the spring is a truly magical time! After a long winter, the sun begins to peek out from behind the clouds, which gives the first indication that spring has begun. As the sun comes out to play, so do Cape Cod locals and visitors! For many, spring on Cape Cod is the best time to visit. Springtime weather varies between 40° and 60°, which makes it perfect to throw on a light jacket and stroll along the beach or opt to stay inside and visit our area’s museums. It’s also a great time to avoid high-season travel and enjoy the Cape in peace. Browse five of our favorite ways to enjoy this beautiful season on the Cape!

Top 5 Things to Do on Cape Cod in the Spring

    1. Visit Martha’s Vineyard

Martha’s Vineyard is one of the most popular attractions near Cape Cod! This island off the coast of Cape Cod is the perfect spot for sightseeing, shopping, dining, and more. Martha’s Vineyard a bit further from our location in Brewster than most other attractions, but it makes the perfect day trip! Simply head southeast on Route 6A until you reach the Steamship Authority. Then, enjoy a ferry ride to Martha’s Vineyard

    2. Go Whalewatching

Whale watching on Cape Cod begins in the spring! Open season for this exciting activity takes place from mid-April through October. While your best chance for spotting marine life is from June to September, sometimes they make an early appearance. A couple of our favorite whale watching charters include Hyannis Whale Watcher Cruises and Dolphin Fleet Whale Watch. Be sure to purchase your tickets in advance, though, as these charters fill up quickly!

    3. Stroll Along the Beach

Visit the beach during your spring trip to Cape Cod for a relaxing afternoon or evening! We recommend Coast Guard Beach to watch the sunrise and view wildlife! In the summer, Coast Guard Beach is a great spot for swimming! Or, head to Breakwater Beach in Brewster to watch the sunset before you head back to your guest room at Candleberry Inn. Your stay at our Brewster, MA, bed and breakfast includes access to our beach day amenities! These include complimentary beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, picnic coolers, ice, and an outdoor shower.

    4. Explore Local Museums

Consider a visit to some local Cape Cod museums or historic sites when the weather doesn’t cooperate! Some of our favorites include the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History and the Kennedy Compound on Cape Cod. These sites give guests a glimpse into the Cape’s past—and how it impacts its future!

    5. Attend Brewster in Bloom

Brewster in Bloom is our favorite annual event that happens in the spring—and perhaps all year! This festival welcomes spring with a variety of activities like parade, 5K run, and a craft fair. Come out and join the locals as we celebrate all that spring in Cape Cod has to offer!
