    Coffee Shops in the Upper Cape

    Coffee Obsession

    Located in the Queens Buyway section of historic Falmouth Village, Coffee Obsession is the perfect place for a coffeeholic. This coffee shop has been serving coffee as bitter, sweet, hot, and cold as you want it since 1992.

    Along with coffee and espresso drinks, you can order chai, specialty drinks, a range of teas, and seasonal specials. The menu is accompanied by made-to-order breakfast and lunch specialties, and there’s a slew of pastries to try — danishes, turnovers, cookies, whoopie pies, and more, including gluten-free options.

    Coffee Obsession also has a location in Woods Hole.

    The Black Dog Heights Cafe

    From The Black Dog brand of Martha’s Vineyard, The Black Dog Heights Cafe in Falmouth is only open during the summer. You can choose from a variety of freshly brewed hot and iced coffees, as well as espressos, lattes, and other beverages. You can enjoy breakfast and lunch specialties and pastries here too.

    Cafe Chew

    Embracing the easygoing culture of Cape Cod coffee chops, Cafe Chew in Sandwich makes a range of Fair Trade coffee, espresso drinks, and teas.     Beth’s Bakery & Cafe

    In Sandwich, Beth’s Bakery & Cafe is a modest bakery and coffeehouse with a comfortable homey vibe. It’s the ideal place to enjoy a coffee with some delicious bakery items — muffins, cookies, scones, cakes, and other pastries. If you want a more substantial meal, the cafe serves great sandwiches and soups.

    Cape Cod Coffee

    Since 1970, Cape Cod Coffee in Mashpee has been a prime location to get a cup of joe. Its roasting facility on Route 130, which is open for tours, has more than 40 varieties of the best Fair Trade & Rainforest Alliance-certified beans sourced from 12 countries.

    Along with coffee, espresso, and the like, this coffee shop serves a range of comfort food for the whole family — gluten-free pizza, sandwiches, and chicken wings. You can even enjoy seasonal cocktails, mocktails, and 16 local beers.

    PB Boulangerie Bistro

    If you’re looking to pair an amazing French pastry with a gourmet cup of coffee, you’ll want to plan a visit to PB Boulangerie Bistro in Wellfleet. Known for his classic pastries and hearty French fare, Chef Philippe Rispoli offers a menu of simple recipes made with European techniques for a truly unique coffee shop experience on Cape Cod.

    Nirvana Coffee Company

    Offering a full coffee bar made with certified Fair Trade beans, Nirvana Coffee Company in Barnstable is a cute, quaint coffee shop for a sip and a bite. Alongside the coffee bar, the shop serves matcha, chai, and other loose-leaf and sachet teas.

    And whether you want something savory or sweet to go with your drink, the menu has it all — breakfast sandwiches, hot panini sandwiches, parfaits, muffins, housemade cookies, assorted pastries, coffee cakes, and vegan and gluten-free options.

    Great Awakenings Coffee House

    Featuring espresso drinks of all kinds, Great Awakenings Coffee House in Hyannis is passionate about serving delicious hot, cold, and iced brews. From straight and bitter to flavored and sweetened, the menu has it all. Great Awakenings has drip coffee, coffee on tap, matcha, chai, hot chocolate, and loose-leaf teas as well.

    Plus, you can pair savory and sweet French pastries with your beverage. Some popular food items include the Apple Danish, Chocolate Avalanche, Sweet Cheese Danish, and Spinach Feta pastries. There are even gluten-free options, including a Chocolate Chunk Brownie.

    Old King’s Coffee House

    Despite the name implying that it only makes traditional coffees, Old King’s Coffee House in Yarmouth offers contemporary, handcrafted combinations too. The coffee shop proudly uses the freshest beans from around the world so that you get the best-tasting light, medium, and dark roast brews.

    Also, Old King’s has cold brews, espressos, chai, hot chocolate, and more. And, the rest of the menu features breakfast items, sandwiches and salads, baked goods, and smoothies.

    Three Fins Coffee Roasters

    If you’re in West Dennis, Three Fins Coffee Roasters is a fantastic place to stop for a cup of java. In a large building with 28-foot ceilings, this location is home to the roastery. It only uses top-grade coffee beans for its specialty coffees, so you know that you’re getting quality.

    You can choose from espresso, pour-over, drip, nitro, and cold brews. The coffee shop has tea too. And, you can order pastries and light snacks to pair with your drink — croissants, cinnamon buns, danishes, muffins, mini beignets, scones, and gluten-free items.

    To amp up your experience, visit Three Fins during one of its events. The shop hosts coffee brewing classes and demonstrations, fundraisers, and musical recitals and performances throughout the year.

    Woolfie’s Bakery

    During the summer, Woolfie’s Bakery in Dennis Port is a premium spot for coffee and baked goods. It’s home to the Original Jamaican Me Crazy Coffee, which is flavored with a hint of Kahlua, caramel, and vanilla. With more than 50 years of baking experience, you can expect superb breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and muffins as well.

    Woolfie’s Bakery also has a second location at the Family Table Collaborative (the old Riverway Lobster House).

    Coffee Shops in the Lower Cape

    Cape Roots Market

    With a beautiful patio to spend some time on during a sunny afternoon, Cape Roots Market in Harwich Port is a market and cafe that serves beverages and treats of all kinds. Its coffee actually comes from Snowy Owl Coffee Roasters (also on this list). You can order drip coffees, espressos, cappuccinos, cold brews, and iced coffees. Also on the drink menu are matcha, chai, and hot chocolate options.

    The cafe serves a variety of breakfast sandwiches and pastries — cookies, cakes, bagels, croissants, muffins, scones, and whoopie pies. Plus, you can find an assortment of deli sandwiches and salads in the market, along with many more convenience and pantry items.

    Chatham Perk

    In North Chatham, Chatham Perk has been serving the community since 2014. Rated as one of the best Cape Cod coffee shops, it serves espressos, cappuccinos, lattes, and other coffee varieties alongside chai, hot chocolate, juices, smoothies, and bowls.

    Additionally, the menu features breakfast pastries, bagels, and sandwiches, as well as lunch sandwiches, soups, salads, panini, and lobster rolls. You can even purchase quality products from local brands, such as Cape Cod Coffee and the Pain D’Avignon boulangerie.

    Chatham Perk also has a downtown location on Main Street that’s open during the summer.

    Snowy Owl Coffee Roasters

    Established in 2015, Snowy Owl Coffee Roasters in Brewster ethically sources, roasts, and serves specialty coffee. The shop has several types of coffee — espresso, Aeropress, Chemex, traditional brew, pour-over, and cold brew. And, you can order high-grade teas, freshly squeezed juices, and other tasty drinks.

    Snowy Owl partners with the Pain D’Avignon boulangerie and White Lion Bakery to offer pastries and sweets, and it sources salads and soups from The Optimal Kitchen. You can get other breads, energy bars, and yogurt too.

    Snowy Owl Coffee Roasters also has a Sandwich Roastery & Cafe and a Chatham Espresso Bar.

    Hot Chocolate Sparrow

    Known across the Cape for its chocolate, Hot Chocolate Sparrow in Orleans has also been voted No. 1 for its hot, cold, and frozen coffee beverages. The Sparrow Blend and Mocha Sparrow are two of its most popular. And, of course, the hot chocolate and iced hot chocolate are popular go-to items.

    The candy shop also serves an array of pastries — cinnamon rolls, croissants, cookies, cake slices, muffins, macaroons, brownies, scones, whoopie pies, and gluten-free desserts. On top of that, the shop serves ice cream, smoothies, floats, and shakes.

    Not far from Hot Chocolate Sparrow, The Sparrow Store sells unique and locally made products — from jams and jellies to candles and artisan gifts to apparel and accessories.

    Outer Cape Cod Coffee Shops

    Hole in One Bakery + Coffee Shop

    Next to the Fairway Restaurant & Pizzeria, the Hole in One Bakery + Coffee Shop in Eastham serves gourmet hot and cold coffees and lattes. You can order freshly brewed iced teas too.

    However, the shop is most well known as a bakery and makes more than 250 dozen hand-cut doughnuts every day during the summer. Some popular flavors include chocolate-glazed, honey-dipped, and old-fashioned sour cream doughnuts. In addition, it serves cupcakes, biscotti, and other pastries.

    Hole In One also has a location in Orleans — Hole In One Restaurant Breakfast + Lunch.

    Chocolate Cafe

    In North Eastham, Chocolate Cafe is a cute cafe decorated like a brightly colored 1950s diner. The hot menu features Fair Trade-certified coffees — cappuccinos, espressos, lattes, and mochas — teas, hot chocolate, and more.

    You can get many of the hot drinks iced and frozen, and the shop offers smoothies, root beer floats, and frappes. And, you can enjoy breakfast and lunch sandwiches alongside your drink, as well as purchase fudge and candy.

    Wired Puppy

    Founded in 1995, the Wired Puppy in Provincetown has a passion for making, drinking, and serving rich coffee. All of its beans are ethically sourced and regionally roasted. Its menu features espresso beverages, iced and frozen blended drinks, and specialty teas.

    Kohi Coffee Company

    Focused on providing quality coffee, Kohi Coffee Company in Provincetown has been serving the local community since 2014. The company partners with Tandem Coffee Roasters of Maine to offer a unique selection of Fair Trade and single-origin java. It has a curated guest roaster program too, so the coffee options continuously rotate.

    Alongside standard sizes of espresso and coffee cups, you can get 32-ounce growlers of cold brew coffee. The coffee shop also has signature beverages — Chai Cider and Miso Caramel Latte — and teas. You can get biscuits, cookies, scones, and gluten-free blondies to go with your drink.
