3 of the Top Reasons to Visit Breakwater Beach in Brewster

    1. Pristine Sands

Breakwater Beach in Brewster is the perfect spot to lay out and work on your tan. The sand is soft and clean so you can easily lay out a towel or situate your chair under an umbrella. During the summer, the water is at a comfortable 65-70 degrees fahrenheit, so it’s at an optimal temperature to cool off.  At low tide, the sand will extend almost a mile out into the bay. During high tide, there is still ample room to enjoy the beach! Plus, Candleberry Inn will let you borrow complimentary beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas to take with you so you don’t have to worry about packing your own.

    2. An Uncrowded Beach

One of our favorite parts about Breakwater Beach in Brewster is that you can always find a spot. Even in the peak of summer, you won’t be bumping elbows with your neighbor like other beaches. The low amount of people that frequent this beach compared to others means that there are not commodities like a snack bar, but you can usually hear an ice cream truck pass by!

    3. More Than Just a Beach

Breakwater Beach is more than just your average shoreline. During low tide, the sands stretch for almost a mile. This is the perfect time to walk around and explore. Tidal pools filled with crabs, shells, and small fish are revealed. However, you need to keep in mind that the tide comes in fast. There is no lifeguard, so we recommend keeping an eye on the tide times.
