History of the Cape Cod Winery

The Cape Cod Winery was originally founded in 1994 by the Lazzari family as a way to create wines that would pair well with the delicious, fresh seafood the Cape offers. When the Orlandellas bought it, they continued this tradition but moved the winery to a historic farm that dates back to the 1800s.

The Orlandella family’s passion for winemaking stems back all the way to Italy. Originally from San Sossio Baronia, the people there have taken advantage of the successful fruit harvests due to the fertile soils. Winemaking flourished here, and the Orlandellas decided to continue the tradition of their people when they purchased the Cape Cod Winery in 2013.

    Visiting Cape Cod Winery

Cape Cod Winery invites you to come taste their decadent wines year round. During the winter months, their hours are cut down, so make sure to check their website or schedule an appointment! The owners are always willing to accommodate you and introduce you to their wines. You can choose to sample 5 or 8 wines, then pick your favorite to enjoy a glass while you relax on their patio. We recommend purchasing a bottle or two to enjoy back at Candleberry Inn or at home when you want to reminisce about your trip!

The Wines at Cape Cod Winery

There is a young grape field at the new winery location, but most of the grapes have their own growing site. The sandy soil and slopes they are planted on are reminiscent of the vineyards in Italy and southern France. The European wine grapes that are planted here thrive; they create the taste of Cape Cod in every glass. You can purchase your favorite wine varieties on site or through the online shop!
