The Best Time to Visit Cape Cod by Season
Winter
Winter boasts the coldest months on Cape Cod. While this isn’t the best time of year for outdoor activities or the beach, it’s a great time to get in the holiday spirit! Each winter, Candleberry Inn welcomes guests for the annual Brewster for the Holidays celebration as well as New Year’s Eve. The rest of the shoulder season, we’re busy making updates to the Inn!
Spring
Cape Cod in the spring is a truly magical time! After a long winter, the sun begins to peek out from behind the clouds, giving the first indication that spring has begun. This is a perfect time to visit Martha’s Vineyard, go whale watching, and explore local museums. Springtime temperatures vary between 40° and 60°, so be sure to pack a jacket for the chillier days!
Summer
Warmer weather officially arrives in the summertime. Personally, it’s our favorite time of year on Cape Cod. During this time of year, our guests love spending time at the local Brewster beaches. Before you head out, stop by the front desk to request a free umbrella, picnic cooler, and ice for your beach day.
Breakwater Beach is one of our favorite places to watch the sunset! It’s the only sunset-facing beach in Brewster and it’s just a half-mile from Candleberry Inn. Here are the average sunset times during the summer:
June: 8:15 p.m.
July: 8:05 p.m.
August: 7:45 p.m.
Fall
There’s a bit of a chill in the air during autumn, but it’s nothing a cozy sweater, scarf, and hat can’t fix! There is an average high of 53 degrees and an average low of 37 degrees. It’s the perfect time to get cozy with your sweetheart indoors or get outside and enjoy some fresh, brisk air. If you’re looking to explore, we recommend a Cape Cod cranberry bog tour!
